Try This Out
Get outside of your world and explore.
The basic communication principle is to know your audience, understand who it is that you are talking with. Here's a little exercise you might try out to raise your awareness of those around you.
For starters try this out: find the most vastly different person from yourself and over a nice dinner, become a learner - discover their world. Ask them some questions - learn their language, and listen to their heart.
Try these for starters...
-
What is most important to you in life (what do you value?):
-
What has been your religious experience and why/how has it been most helpful to you?
-
What has been your experience with Christians?
-
Do you think Christianity has anything to offer to you personally?
-
If Christianity were to be viable to you, what would it offer or provide that you presently don't have?
-
If you sought answers to a life situation, why or why wouldn't you go to a Christian?
-
What problems do you see with Christianity?
-
How would you change the Christian faith to make it more acceptable to modern society?
-
If you could make God to be exactly what you needed, wanted, what would He/It be to you?
-
Assuming the existence of God, if you could sit down with him over a fine dinner and ask him any questions what would they be?
